Justice, Fairness and Responsibility
Our Environment Pledge
Our school is proud to have signed an environmental pledge, committing ourselves to a sustainable future and taking active steps toward a greener Bexley. By joining this initiative, we are not only raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet, but also setting an example for others in the community to follow. We aim to reduce our carbon footprint through initiatives such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and encouraging eco-friendly practices among students and staff. With a shared responsibility to our environment, our school is determined to lead the way in fostering a culture of sustainability and inspiring future generations to be mindful stewards of the Earth. Together, we are building a brighter, cleaner, and greener tomorrow for Bexley and beyond.
The Mayor's charity cake sale - We raised £144!

Our cake sale this term was a huge success! Each class worked hard to bake and decorate delicious cakes and biscuits to sell after school, all to raise money for the Mayor's charity- Counselling Matters. This is a charity dedicated to providing counselling services for children and adults in Bexley. The students were excited to be involved, and there was a fantastic variety of treats on offer. Thanks to everyone’s effort and support, we raised a wonderful amount of money to help support children’s mental health. It was a great way to come together as a school community and make a real difference!
SWAC Visit

In our SWAC assembly this term, we explored how we can help our environment by reducing, reusing, and recycling. We discussed simple yet powerful actions we can take every day, such as cutting down on waste, reusing items where possible, and recycling materials to protect our planet. This ties into our Courageous Advocacy, where we are encouraged to stand up for what’s right and be brave in making a positive impact on the world around us. By working together, we can show care and responsibility for God's creation and inspire others to do the same. Our actions, big or small, can lead to meaningful change and a healthier planet for everyone!
No Smoking - Keep our air clean!

The children recently participated in a competition to design a no smoking sign, encouraging everyone to think about the importance of living a healthy, smoke-free life. The competition was a creative way to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking and promote healthier choices. After much effort and imagination, two Year 5 students emerged as the winners, impressing everyone with their thoughtful and eye-catching designs. Their winning entries not only stood out for their artistic flair but also carried powerful messages about the benefits of staying smoke-free. As a reward for their hard work, they were presented with a prize, and their designs will be displayed around the school to inspire others to make healthy choices.
Children in need 2024
Both the adults and children came together to wear something spotty in support of the Children in Need charity. This special day was not only a fun way to show our support, but also an opportunity to raise money and awareness for children who are less fortunate. Everyone wore their spotty clothes proudly, knowing that their participation helped make a difference. The money raised will go towards supporting children in need, providing them with a better chance at a brighter future. It was a day of unity and compassion, where we all came together to help those who need it most.
Remembrance day 2024
Every year, the children take part in making poppies for wreaths to honor those who have served and sacrificed for our country. This tradition is an important way for us to show respect and remember the bravery of others. As part of the Remembrance Day observance, the children also participate in a two-minute silence, reflecting on the significance of the day. This year, the Leading Lights were also in attendance at the Remembrance service at St. Augustine's Church, joining together with the community to pay their respects. The poppies, the silence, and the service all helped remind us of the importance of remembering those who have given so much for our freedom.
Show Racism the Red Card 2024
Show the Red Card to Racism is an anti-racism initiative that encourages people to actively stand against racism, using the symbolism of the red card, commonly used in sports to indicate unacceptable behaviour. We recognise racism as a form of injustice. By advocating for this cause, we learn that we have a role in promoting inclusivity and fairness.
#HelloYellow
Everybody took part in #HelloYellow day to raise vital funds and show children and young people they’re not alone with their mental health. Our involvement teaches children that everyone’s feelings and mental well-being are valuable and worth advocating for.
By participating in #HelloYellow, we encourage our students to see themselves as advocates who can help create a more supportive and understanding school community. They learn that their voices matter in the conversation around mental health and that they can make a difference by showing empathy, speaking up for those who need help, and promoting a culture where it’s okay to ask for support
Donating to the Foodbank
Our school community came together during our Harvest Festival to donate food for the local foodbank. This meaningful act allowed our students to put their faith into action, sharing compassion and generosity with those in need. Rooted in our Christian values, this effort helps students understand the importance of giving, especially during times of hardship, and teaches them that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Through our Harvest Festival donations, we live out our commitment to supporting others and strengthening our wider community.
Our wonderful meadow project!
Our school recently took part in a fantastic project to create a wild meadow and an allotment area, which will help us learn more about nature and the environment. The wild meadow will be full of beautiful flowers and plants that attract wildlife, creating a peaceful space for both learning and relaxation. Alongside the meadow, we have an allotment area where students can grow their own vegetables and learn about sustainable gardening. One of the highlights of the project is the greenhouse, which was built using recycled bottles, showing how we can reuse materials to help protect the planet. This project encourages everyone to get involved in taking care of our environment and supports our efforts to live more sustainably.
Climate Action Countdown
We had Max and Abbie in school launching the Climate Action Countdown at St. Paul's. This is an annual climate action challenge to help school's around the UK take action for climate and nature.
Diabetes UK Fundraiser
Our school recently held a sponsored circuit event to raise money for Diabetes UK. This initiative allowed our students to show compassion and support for those affected by diabetes, a condition that impacts millions of lives. Through active participation and fundraising, students learned the importance of standing up for causes that promote health and well-being in our wider community. Rooted in our Church of England values, this effort reflects our dedication to helping others, teaching students that they can make a difference through kindness, action, and generosity.
