  Design and Technology Intent

At St Paul’s (Slade Green) C of E Primary School, our aim is to encourage all pupils to use their creativity, skills and knowledge to solve real and relevant problems, in a variety of contexts. Through our Design and Technology curriculum, we aim to inspire pupils to want to be the engineers, designers, chefs and architects of the future. Pupils are given opportunities to create a range of structures, mechanisms, textiles and food products whilst learning technical vocabulary. Our Design and Technology curriculum also enables pupils to take risks so that they become more resourceful, capable, enterprising and innovative. Pupils are given regular opportunities to be reflective and evaluate the impact of products on our daily lives as well on the wider world.  We want pupils at St Paul’s (Slade Green) C of E Primary School to use their Design and Technology skills and knowledge to solve problems, be confident to take risks and be inspired to design and make products that could change the way we live.
