This afternoon we did some artwork, inspired by African artist Gakonga African. We used charcoals and pastels to recreate some amazing pieces of people dancing. Check out our work below.

Today we were treated to a visit from Olympic volleyball player Peter Bakare, who competed in the London 2012 Olympics. We had to complete an intense fitness circuit in the hall and then had a special fitness assembly where we learnt lots about Peter’s story, volleyball and resilience – the importance of never giving up. Check out the photos from the day.

What a fantastic trip we had to Harry Potter Studios today! Behaviour was impeccable and the children loved seeing so many costumes and props (big and small!) from the Harry Potter films! Check out the photos:

The children loved the paired reading they did today with Oak class. They all looked great in their book character costumes too!

What a great start we’ve made to Science Week! Today we carried out a fun and practical investigation: which material would be best for Elasti-Girl from The Incredibles? We spent time testing and stretching each material, then found a way to display our findings using a bar chart and finally we came up with names for our charts and discussed what we had learnt. Check out the pictures below:

Learning Quest - Spring 1 - Vicious Vikings
A big thank you to all the parents who came to help make the Viking longboats on Thursday afternoon. It wouldn’t have been possible without the extra pairs of hands and the children loved making them. Check out some pictures of the afternoon:

What an excellent day Year 4 had at Hall Place today! We learnt lots about the history of Hall Place and how important it was for code-breaking during World War 2 in the 1940s. Behaviour was fantastic on the trip too – well done everyone. Check out some pictures of our trip below!
