We loved learning about the Easter Story in Church with Sam this week. We all wrote a prayer that will be displayed on a paper chain at the front of the church. We also learnt an Easter song!

We were so intrigued at the next stage of the butterfly life cycle. The caterpillars began to climb towards the top of the cup and hang in a 'J' shape. Here we discovered that they shed their exoskeleton one last time before they become Chrysalides.

Year 3's have started the topic of Light in Science. We created a dark den with hidden objects, we couldn't see what they were because there was no light source. We discovered that dark is the absence of light.

Collective Worship at St. Augustine's Church
This week we went for collective worship at the Church. Sam taught us the meaning of epiphany and we learned a song about the Three Wise Men. Reverend Jim spoke about gifts from God, meaning all of our talents and skills. We wrote about what our gifts from God are.

Year 3 R.E.
We have been learning about Sikhism in our R.E. lessons. This week we looked at the story of Guru Nanak and discussed how this has impacted Sikh's lives today. We listened to a few stories and found that there was a common message throughout them all, we are all equal!

Year 2 P.E.
In our P.E. lessons, we have been focusing on the word 'linking'. We have been exploring how we can link our body parts through the apparatus. We paired up to watch each other's sequences and celebrated what we did well and what we could do to improve next time.

R.E. - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit
In Religious Education this week, Year 3 learnt about how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are represented. First, we looked at a kenning poem describing them, then we designed our own representations inspired by the words in the poem.

Year 3 - P.E.
To continue our P.E. learning journey, we used the apparatus to develop our symmetry motifs. We worked together to find different ways of travelling to and from the equipment and also experiment with how we can create interesting, symmetrical and asymmetrical movements.

Gymnastics - Symmetry
In P.E., we were exploring what symmetry meant. We worked in pairs to create symmetrical sequences using different body parts. Our stretch and challenge was to perform balances in our sequence too.
